THE POSITION

The Department of Labor &amp Industry is seeking a detail-oriented Clerical Assistant 3 with exceptional work ethic to complete our team. This position gives you the opportunity to act as secretary and principal clerical support to the Administrator and technical staff for at our Unemployment Compensation (UC) Service Center. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will provide assistance and support to management and technical staff of the UC Service Center by performing research to acquire necessary data for preparation of reports on UC Program activities, staffing, budget, fiscal, and other matters. You will be responsible for preparing reports, compiling necessary paperwork to fill or reclassify positions, attending meetings and training, as well as acting as receptionist and primary timekeeper. You will have the opportunity to educate management and staff on available trainings, analyze work completed by staff for accuracy, and maintain time and attendance records of staff. Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Composing correspondence regarding inquiries of services that does not require a response from the Administrator
  • Representing management on special committees
  • Maintaining files
  • Preparing travel arrangements for all staff

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Work hours may vary depending on operational needs.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING &amp ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title) or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
