Job Profile Summary Field Operations Technician II is a mid-level role focused on advanced maintenance and installation of equipment at communication sites, as well as supporting installations and changes in data centers. This position collaborates with various departments to ensure optimal site operation and is crucial in site acceptance, backhaul troubleshooting, and testing. Responsibilities include regular maintenance, repairs, and customer installations for enterprise solutions, including government grant programs and large businesses. This role will service the area surrounding Gallup, NM.
Duties and Responsibilities
(included but not limited to):
- Coordinate with various departments, external vendors, and contractors to ensure advanced standards of site acceptance for new builds, site modifications, backhaul installation, uplifts, troubleshooting, and testing.
- Perform comprehensive preventative maintenance, ensure meticulous documentation, and conduct thorough site systems monitoring to uphold and enhance site maintenance standards.
- Manage and maintain accountability for assigned company assets, collaborating closely with Logistics and Support Services to ensure precision in inventory accuracy.
- Efficiently resolve complex trouble tickets and escalate issues as necessary.
- Supervise and ensure the optimal functionality of power systems and battery backups, including conducting detailed tests and adjustments to maintain performance standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum Years Experience 1 – 2 Yrs
- Minimum Education: High School / Trade School or equivalent experience

- Possess a valid Drivers License and meet the requirements of the Department of Transportation physical.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Demonstrates regular and reliable attendance, ensuring consistent availability and dependability. Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as required
- Intermediate knowledge and experience in the use and operation of electronic test equipment, including but not limited to: RFC 2544, VSWR, PIM, and OTDR.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency with hand tools and power tools, ensuring meticulous execution and maintenance of equipment installations and repairs.
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office for communicating and reporting and basic computer knowledge.
- Knowledge and experience in wireless and data services, voice telecommunications, project management, microwave, fiber optics, ethernet backhaul facilities, and AC and DC power systems.
- Proficient knowledge in TCP/IP protocols and networking fundamentals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to train and mentor junior technicians.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex technical challenges under tight deadlines.
