Category Advisor
Company Description
Reporting to the Sr. Category Advisor, you will be the main customer contact for our category advisor team for the Energy Drink category on main placement (back-of-store/future consumption). You will be an important contributor on the Walmart Category Advisor team and will assist the Sr. Category Advisor in providing the best category leadership to Walmart and helping upskill junior team members. You will provide strategic and ongoing holistic category and shopper recommendations to the Walmart Buyers.
Job Description
Contribute to the Walmart modular development process by using the best tools to increase Walmart market share and category performance of Energy Drinks.
Help us develop holistic, strategic category recommendations taking into account consumer and market trends, assortment, space, and merchandising.
Help create a strategic and trusted relationship with Walmart buyer by providing value through objectivity, high-level category and shopper insight and excellent project management results
Create and lead shopper and category-centric presentations, founded in research and data analysis that support the retailers category performance goals
Use Shopper and Consumer insights to identify important shopper groups or purposes within the channel to inform Walmart growth strategies
Apply third-party research resources (including Luminate Customer Perception, Numerator, Mintel, Kantar, etc.) to inform and direct strategy for the retailer and the category
Identify category opportunity and make recommendation to the buyer relative to gaps in volume, market share, pricing, promotion, shelf space and product distribution
Qualifications
5+ years of experience analyzing/interpreting data and turning insights into action
3+ years of experience in customer-facing Category Management (Walmart Category Advisor/Captain advantageous)
Experience using multiple data sources such as primary and secondary research, loyalty card or shopper panel, and syndicated point of sale data (IRI/Nielsen)
Working knowledge of JDA (Space Planning), Tableau/Power BI, and advanced MS Office including pivot tables, slicers, and formulas to automate reporting
Luminate experience an advantage
Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
Must be fluent in English, additional language skills an advantage
