Saint Josephs Hospital. 4th floor Womens

Scope

1.Files and scans medical records into electronic medical records (EMR) system according to established policies and procedures.
2. Requests and provides medical information to and from patient care providers in strict accordance with HIPAA and all policies and procedures.
3. Maintains medical records and other correspondence according to policy.
4. Maintains organization of information center and physical charts.
5. Manages EMR fax queue and assist callers by answering and referring phone calls or other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communication.
6. Manages the flow of interdepartmental, outgoing, and incoming mail.
7. Pulls and files charts for patient appointments, staff, physicians and/or other requests.
8. Files loose sheets (patient records) in appropriate chart.
9. May answer phone inquiries regarding medical records.
10. Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications



High school diploma or equivalent is required

One (1) year related experience in a health care organization is required

1. Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required

3. Ability to perform redundant tasks with minimal error rate.
4. Ability to use good judgment in the course of contact with physicians, patients, staff and outside sources.
5. Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
6. A team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.- and -Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.- and -See and read computer monitors and documents.- and -Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.- and -May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$18.29 – $23.69
