The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications from self-motivated, results-oriented individuals with the knowledge, ability and interpersonal skills required to serve as Associate Director, Football Video Operations – a full-time position, salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, including full University benefits. Responsibilities: The Associate Director of Football Video Operations will assist the Director in over-seeing the football program’s overall audio and video needs. This position will have an emphasis on over-seeing the coaching video needs of the football program in collaboration with the Director of Football Video Operations. This includes practice and game coverage, film breakdown, video exchange, film library, maintenance and replacement plans for associated software and hardware. This position will also assist the Assistant Director of Football Video Operations with post-production video requests as necessary. This position requires working evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic arts, design, or related field (or international equivalent) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One year experience shooting and editing production video in an athletics environment, including shooting practices and games for coaching purposes
  • Knowledge of and ability to import and edit coaching video using Catapult Thunder (or similar)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to move and load up to 50 pounds
  • Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships
  • Working knowledge of and ability to operate effectively within a highly regulated team environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the NCAA rules and a commitment to adhere to all rules and regulations of the University of Iowa, the Big Ten Conference, and the NCAA
  • A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Driving Policy standards.

Desired qualifications:

  • Video production and editing experience in an intercollegiate football program
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the professionalism and intensity necessary to successfully contribute to a Division I athletics program
  • Extensive knowledge of the football video environment and procedures, including the computer software programs Catapult Thunder and Catapult Exchange
  • Working knowledge of effects software including Adobe Creative Suite for various postproduction and marketing purposes
  • Working knowledge of projectors to setup and replace units
  • General knowledge of computer IT issues, including catapult servers.
