Pay Range: $ 50,000.00 – 70,000.00

Summary

Plans, directs, coordinates, and controls activities of workers engaged in assembling parts or assemblies into units by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Creates detailed schedule time lines to ensure customer shipment dates and equipment specifications are met.
  • Develops a process plan including people, resources, equipment, and floor space for each customer order.
  • Plans flow of materials through department and develops physical layout of production line according to work orders.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Sets up machines and equipment.
  • Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Maintains respectful and appropriate employee relations with subordinates.

· Responds to employee complaints quickly and works with subordinates, General Manager, and Human Resources to discuss and eliminate problems.

Directly supervises employees in the Assembly Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees planning, assigning, and directing work appraising performance rewarding and disciplining employees addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Required to stand, walk, climb, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Frequently required to use fingers, hands, and arms to handle and reach.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move 5-30lbs.
  • Must rarely lift and/or move up to 75+lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally required to work four 12-hour days, up to 5 days consecutively as business demands.
  • Ability to wear protective gear due to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Ability to frequently be exposed to flashing lights.
  • Must occasionally be exposed to weather conditions precipitation, extreme cold and extreme heat.
  • Regularly required to wear hearing protection in a loud environment.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, 2-year Associates Degree in a relevant field of study preferred minimum 5 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient with common hand tools, measuring instruments and all other tools that are present within the department.
It is preferred that the candidate be proficient in LN Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. Additional computer skills will be required for this position – including Kronos, Performance Management, Job Requisition Requests, Personnel Change Requests and more .
