Position Title: Arena Production Technician

Job Summary: The Arena Production Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio, lighting, video, and other technical equipment for live events held in the arena. This role involves working closely with production managers, performers, and other staff to ensure that events run smoothly and meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and dismantle audio, lighting, video, and other production equipment according to event requirements and technical specifications.
  • Operate soundboards, lighting consoles, video switchers, and other control systems during live events to achieve desired effects and maintain synchronization.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on production equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of technical aspects for events, including coordinating equipment rentals, scheduling rehearsals, and communicating with performers and production staff.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working with high-voltage electrical systems, rigging equipment, and other potentially hazardous materials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external vendors to ensure seamless integration of audio, lighting, and video elements with stage setups and other production components.
  • Provide support and guidance to production crew members and volunteers during load-in, load-out, and rehearsals.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to arena production, and make recommendations for equipment upgrades or improvements as needed.
  • Maintain inventory records for production equipment, supplies, and materials, and assist in the procurement of new items as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the production manager or supervisor.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

Previous experience in live event production, preferably in an arena or large venue setting.

Proficiency in operating audio, lighting, and video equipment, including knowledge of industry-standard software and control systems.

Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly under pressure.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.

Physical stamina and dexterity to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.

Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to arena production, including rigging procedures, electrical safety, and emergency protocols.

Certification or training in audio engineering, lighting design, or related fields is a plus.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Additional technical training or certifications in audiovisual technology, stagecraft, or related disciplines preferred.
