Summary

Are you a 14- to 17- year-old who is looking for a summer job? We would love to have you join the City of Wasilla ALPAR Crew for the summer 2024 season!

As an ALPAR team member, you will utilize safety equipment to pick up trash in the City of Wasilla parks and surrounding areas to help keep them litter-free. Every day, you will work a 7 am- 11 am shift or an 11 am- 3:30 pm shift under an ALPAR Supervisor. Since the work is done outside, you will be expected to work in various weather conditions such as rain or heat. Safety vests and other tools will be provided to ensure you can complete the job successfully.

You will succeed in this role if you work well with others, have a good work ethic, and can come on time. If that sounds like you, we encourage you to apply!

  • This is a non-exempt, temporary, part-time position without benefits.

Job Duties

The responsibilities listed below are illustrative of the various types of duties that may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Responsible to use safety equipment appropriately for use of picking up trash in assigned areas.
  • Responsible to work in team environment.
  • Comply with any assigned paperwork tasks such as timesheets.
  • Participate in recycling efforts.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Comply with safety protocols while picking up trash.
  • Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience and/or Education:

  • Must be at least 14 years old.
