What Youll Do as an Administrative Officer 1:
Ohio Department of Public Safety – Bureau of Motor Vehicles/Field Operations/Field Services District 2
Report in location: 980 Liberty Drive, Suite 200, Lancaster, OH 43130
***This position will require daily travel to locations within their assigned area utilizing a state vehicle***
Organize & coordinate activities of non-technical division or section of state agency & supervise assigned staff Act as Assistant Chief of District 2 Field Services, within the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV), by coordinating & supervising all field activities relating to Deputy Registrar agencies & field representatives responsibilities, within the district Plan & schedule or assign & monitor all audits Review daily activity & inventory reports Assist in agency recovery resulting from natural disasters (i.e., floods, wind & storm damage) or in the opening/closing of agency sites Evaluate & monitor customer service levels at all district deputy registrar agencies Prepare written reports of field services operations & maintain records & documents for each deputy registrar within the district Assist in the development of policy or procedural changes as approved by immediate supervisor Transmit any policy or procedural changes to staff Ensure progress of compliance/training by deputy registrar agencies of the Ohio Revised Code (ORC), Ohio Administrative Code (OAC), Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) polices/procedures, Deputy Registrar Request for Proposal (DR RFP) & Contract Act as a liaison between external customers, deputy registrars & BMV internal staff Respond to routine & non-routine correspondence from the general public, government officials & BMV administrators, section chiefs & staff Establish priorities & supervise subordinate personnel (e.g., provide developmental opportunities & work direction, coach staff to foster development, monitor staff activities to ensure quality customer service & information technology security, evaluate performance, approve section staffing levels, recommend discipline, pre-screen applications & participate in interviews).
Perform follow-up examination of irregularities found in audit at deputy registrar locations Identify, recommend, develop, & present training programs for deputy registrars & district field representatives Make recommendations for compliance & improvement for maintenance of proper internal checks & controls Provide on-site support to agencies Available for on call duty during non-agency hours of operations: Assisting deputy registrar with installation or removal of BMV equipment, from an agency Inspect all issued equipment assigned to field representatives Act on behalf of the District Chief, in their absence Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
