Overview

The Administrative Assistant B provides administrative support to the Fire Safety Divisions licensing program.


The position is responsible for reviewing and processing licensing applications for a wide range of trade professions, and will also prepare agendas for electrical and plumbing board meetings. Additionally, the position will complete financial reports and daily bank deposits. The position will work in computer databases frequently to enter licensing data in the system.


The position will interact with the general public, including walk-ins, on a daily basis, so strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task are necessary and a background in customer service is preferred.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed predominately in an office setting. Private means of travel should be available for occasional travel when appropriate. Incumbents must be adaptable and able to work within tight time limits and under considerable stress. Some evening and weekend duty may be necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree.

OR

Associates degree AND one (1) or more years performing administrative-level duties for a project, program, or operation

OR

High school graduation or equivalent AND two (2) years or more performing administrative-level duties for a project, program, or operation.
