In the Cost Recovery &amp Materials Division, Central Stores Unit, and under supervision of a Materials and Stores Supervisor, the Warehouse Worker is responsible for performing a variety of warehousing functions including the receiving, storage, issuance and shipping of all division and client agencies parts and equipment.

Working Conditions

DMV Pull Program – Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid Driver’s License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application. Ensure you provide your DL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.

Cal OES provides training to enhance the understanding of emergency and incident management to all employees. The Logistics Directorate is responsible for a wide variety of Cal OES functions, including asset management, fleet administration, facilities management, warehousing, forms and records management, mail operations, copy service center, green programs, public safety communications, and emergency and disaster logistics. In the event of an emergency, employees may be contacted and requested to report to work in the event of an emergency. This contact may be outside of your normal working hours (evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays). This service may require irregular work hours, work locations other than the official duty location, and may include duties other than those specified in your official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and you may be required to relocate to emergency sites.

Training &amp Development – Training and Development (T&ampD) assignments are temporary assignments to provide an employee training and experience to move to a different occupational field. A T&ampD assignment is a formal agreement between the employee, the current supervisor, and the new supervisor. The duration of agreements can vary in length but shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months.

The duration may also be the length of experience needed to meet the minimum qualifications. Please note they are only available to current California State employees who have permanent status.
