About our Victim Services
All KAVI team members are expected to carry themselves professionally and in the best interest of the communities we serve. KAVI is a community empowerment organization that operates programs grounded in Social Equity, Public Health, Restorative, and Social Work practices. This approach includes our use of Trauma Informed Care, which is used to build trust and promote agency and healing. Our community program is the newest component of our programming. We operate community programs using a two-pronged approach: engagement and services. We create community engagement programs that bring family and neighbors together to discuss and act on violence prevention. Our programs help community members advocate for our youth, understand and practice restorative justice, and participate in collective healing. Our engagement work provides individuals and communities with the resources they need to heal from traumatic, violent experiences. Healing Circles, advocacy, Counseling, linkages to stop-gap services, and assistance navigating human service programs are parts of our Victim Services work.
