Transporter

Overview:
Transporters within healthcare institutions are essential in the daily upkeep and services rendered to patients at the facilities. They perform direct or indirect patient care services such as:
- Lifting patients on and off beds moving them to and from special service and treatment areas, and operating rooms using wheelchairs or moveable beds
- Transports patients to various hospital departments before and after procedures as needed
- Transports patient via wheelchair to private transportation vehicle after discharge
- Listening carefully to instructions to get patients to the correct place in the easiest manner possible
- Maintain logs documenting when a patient or medical related item arrives at the appropriate destination
- Keeps all information regarding patients confidential
Requirements:
- Prior experience required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer literacy
- Frequent heavy lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions
- Experience in a healthcare facility desirable
