Pay Grade

Salaried Grade 8 or 10
$74,500 – $99,300 / year, depending on experience and qualifications
The base salary range represents the starting and expected pay for this position. Actual salaries may vary and in some cases may be higher with extensive experience and strong performance.

Schedule

1st Shift

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (ability to work on all shifts as needed, including on-call schedules)

Job Summary

Serves as a primary liaison for company-wide stakeholders, subject matter experts, other application administrators, users, IT, and outside vendors for transportation technology needs. Partners with stakeholders to provide best in class technology solutions to improve business processes. Administers all functional and maintenance areas. Develops/recommends processes and upgrade paths.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides company-wide leadership, vision and roadmap for continuous improvement to the supported systems/services used in Transportation such as on board computers, android tablets, fuel tax, transponders, cameras, cellular services, driver, management and dispatch applications
  • Completes system upgrades
  • Enhances and maintains integration between supported systems and other business systems by maintaining a prioritized product backlog of user stories/needs
  • Participates in development/project meetings as needed
  • Controls changes made to data via non-application methods
  • Maintains complete documentation on those changes that is visible to management and end users
  • Works closely with IT to bring the supported applications forward using Agile Development practices, such as backlog management and grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews and acceptance
  • Acts as the central functional and technical contact between internal departments and external vendors including contracting negotiations, assuring consistency where needed and making paths available for differences
  • Tracks and resolves application problems
  • Ensures that IT security and change management practices and procedures are implemented and followed for the systems they are responsible for
  • Establishes and manages processes and procedures to ensure reliability of systems and for keeping systems current
  • Manages system support issues with vendors
  • Proactively helps functional users improve their processes using information technology
  • Performs other duties as needed to ensure that systems adequately support business processes now and into the future
  • Networks with consultants and users from other companies and maintains relationships with those people who are additional sources of information on the application
  • May supervise employees and be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the team

Required Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree in a related field or equivalent experience (two years of experience may be substituted for each year of required college education)
  • 1-3 years of related experience
  • Substantial knowledge and experience in a transportation environment and the business systems used to support it (e.g. on board computers, android tablets, fuel tax, transponders, cameras, cellular services, driver, management and dispatch applications)
  • Foundational understanding of software design and development, database structure, networking, and delivery of web based applications
  • Functional understanding of computer hardware including tablets, cameras, etc.
  • Agile project management experience
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills that relates to a broad range of people internally and externally including actively listening and providing feedback
  • Strong collaborative interpersonal and team building skills with the ability to work successfully and effectively with many types of personalities
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service and proven response to needs in a manner that adds value and generates significant satisfaction
  • Excellent working knowledge of Workday, Outlook, Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Willingness to travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
  • More than 3 years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of and understanding of Transportation technology and systems (e.g. on board computers, android tablets, fuel tax, transponders, cameras, cellular services, driver, management and dispatch applications)
  • Working knowledge of interfaces with other applications (e.g. Project 44, Macropoint, equipment technology)
  • Working knowledge of analytical tools and practices using Microsoft Excel (i.e. advanced formulas, statistical tools, pivot tables, etc.) or similar tool(s)
  • Working knowledgeable of FMCSA and DOT rules and regulations
  • Experienced with creating &amp deploying Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Basic knowledge of McKee Foods transportation processes and supply chain operations and their impact on others
