Technology/Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Designer – San Diego

Turpin &amp Rattan Engineering, Inc., a full-service Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Technology (MEPT) consulting engineering firm recognized as a leader in our industry, has an opportunity available for a motivated candidate willing to learn, grow, and develop their ICT/low-voltage system design skills.

Suppose you have a fundamental understanding of ICT/low-voltage concepts and principles and wish to develop this knowledge further and work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment to produce project deliverables suitable for construction. In that case, you should apply for this position.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on a project from the initial conceptual phase through the development of design documents, administration during construction, and finally, be able to see the design completed in a real-world environment.

Fundamental knowledge of ICT systems, either through system installation, design, maintenance, or education, is a core requirement of this position. To further develop this understanding, educational support and/or on-the-job training related to ICT fundamentals and the underlying software utilized in the design and engineering field (Revit MEP and AutoCAD) will be provided.

The team member will work closely with project managers, lead engineers, and Clients on the ICT/low-voltage portion of projects to:

  • Assist lead engineer in preparation of ICT/low-voltage designs and project deliverables
  • Design of ICT/low-voltage systems, including utilizing production software to create and develop construction documents
  • Meet multi-disciplinary objectives (Coordinate between design disciplines)
  • Adhere to project budget and schedule requirements
  • Provide support during the construction administration phase
  • Support firms’ philosophy to maintain responsiveness
  • Exceed client expectations

Minimum Requirements:

  • Fundamental understanding of ICT/Low-voltage systems through design, construction, or education. Direct design experience is not required, but those without fundamental technical knowledge of ICT/low-voltage systems will not be considered
  • Willingness to develop proficiency in applicable software, including Revit BIM and AutoCAD software. Turpin &amp Rattan Engineering, Inc. will support the successful applicant in developing these software skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite (Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Strong desire to work with team members and maintain client relationships
  • Ability to work on-site as required to develop an understanding of the project area

Salary: $50,000 – $95,000 / yr
