What You Will Do

A Technical Claims Representative will provide immediate guest liability claims services for Walt Disney World Resort guests. Must exhibit outstanding customer service with an understanding of the importance of brand management. Day-to-Day responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting onsite investigations, evaluate liability case exposure and resolve claims directly with guests and attorneys. Candidate will work closely with our Legal Department and outside counsel in the handling of litigated cases and handle excess reportable cases. They will attend mediations, depositions and meetings involving litigated cases. Candidate should feel comfortable speaking publicly to an audience and will be asked to provide training to leaders across the Resort and participate in initiatives to meet department’s goals and objectives. Candidates must be willing to have periodic on-call responsibilities, which is some cases will necessitate responding to incidents after hours.

Required Qualifications &amp Skills

  • Florida 520 or 620 All-Lines Adjusters’ License with the State of Florida in good standing
  • Confirmed experience and strong understanding of property and casualty insurance and claims handling.
  • Demonstrate strong technical skills, which including scene investigation, evaluation and negotiation of liability claims
  • Confirmed ability to work under timelines and balance multiple priorities
  • Deliver effective presentations to various levels of leaders, including executives
  • Shown ability to deliver concise and informative written summaries in memo and presentation format, with appropriate business writing and usage of professional grammar
  • Computer proficiency within a Windows environment, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and the ability to work in multiple computer systems and in a paperless claims environment
  • Demonstrate familiarity with automated claims administration and management systems
  • Excellent time management skills and understanding of medical and legal terminology
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiating and influencing skills
  • Optimally address problems and make decisions
  • Consistent record to handle confidential information
  • Validated experience in handling sophisticated liability and litigated claims

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years or more experience handling liability claims (Including Bodily Injury, Property Damage, Auto BI, PIP, Auto Property Damage, Discrimination, ADA Compliance and subrogation, etc.) or equivalent claim-related experience.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus
  • Past experience handling Florida claims


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
