The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Technical Apprentice – Cybersecurity to join the team in either Berkeley, MO; Saint Charles, MO; Hazelwood, MO; Kent, WA; Tukwila, WA; Arlington, VA; Mesa, AZ; Huntsville, AL; Colorado Springs, CO; El Segundo, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; or Oklahoma City, OK.

We are seeking energetic, self-motivated, driven, and hardworking candidates from a diverse set of backgrounds and perspectives to join our team in a Technical Apprentice role supporting Information Technology.

We crafted this program to put you on the fast track, grow your knowledge and skills, prepare you for a critical entry level technical job, and earn a paycheck while doing it. You will gain experience working on real-world projects in collaboration with individuals and teams, while having fun along the way. You will be mentored by some of the brightest individuals in the aerospace industry who will challenge you to grow both technically and professionally in cybersecurity. What is a Technical Apprenticeship?

Boeing Technical Apprenticeship Program (BTAP), lasts up to 12 months and is an official registered apprenticeship recognized by the Department of Labor (DOL). Every graduate of a Registered Apprenticeship program will receive a nationally-recognized credential from the DOL.

During the apprenticeship duration, you will complete specific learning hours and on the job training that has been outlined to ensure you are developing the skills and proficiencies crucial to the targeted role. You will develop at your own pace, but we expect most apprentices to complete their program within 12 months. At successful completion, you will receive a credential and be eligible for full-time roles at Boeing.

What is the experience?

As an apprentice, youll join with other apprentices in a cohort and go through experiences together, learning Boeing, aerospace, and core cybersecurity fundamentals. Additionally, managers and mentors will support progress through the personal skills roadmap, learning and demonstrating new skills through hands-on application with project teams. After completing achievements, earning digital credentials to validate the skills that help you be job ready, the cohort will come together to participate in ongoing training and development.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Learn and develop practical skills through hands on labs, projects, and assessments

  • Participate in training and workshops with timely completion of all assigned tasks

  • Collaborate on projects and assignments with other members of the cohort

  • Deliver presentations with and to the cohort, staff, and other team members

  • Complete all training and on the job requirements of the apprenticeship

Some of these positions allow telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

These positions must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Some of these positions may require the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Willingness to complete the requirements of the apprenticeship program

  • Experience learning and gaining new knowledge independently

  • Experience using analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skills

  • Experience building and maintaining professional relationships

  • Experience communicating effectively with multiple levels of an organization

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with public speaking and communicating information in a team and/or leadership setting

  • Experience in a role that required problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated interest and curiosity in technology

  • Self-motivated, positive demeanor, and willingness to learn

  • Experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data; developing conclusions and clearly communicating recommendations

  • Experience with Windows based systems and Microsoft products, including use of Queries, Pivot Tables and management of databases

  • Experience discovering new opportunities and solutions for problems by looking beyond current practices and using innovative thinking

  • Willing to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Shift:

Summary pay range: $50,000 – $65,000
