Summary of Work


As a Skills Trainer, you will assist individuals where they live to build skills so they can live a quality, independent life.

Every day, you will travel to individuals’ homes and communities, focusing on team-based care. There you will teach daily living and household skills, communication, and emotion regulation skills, budgeting skills, as well as health, safety, and hygiene skills. You will be part of an integrated, interdisciplinary team focused on providing the best support plan possible for each individual.

To thrive in this position, you should enjoy teaching and role-modeling, be passionate about empowering others, and prefer working with youth and adults in their home and natural environments. Preference will be given to those who have experience working with youth with a serious emotional disturbance.

Minimum Qualifications


To be considered, you must have the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education, child development and family science, or communication disorders

OR a bachelor’s degree in one of the above fields and two years of related work experience, post degree, in the respective discipline

Position requires a valid driver’s license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
