Remote Patient Account Specialist – Inbound Calls
The Patient Account Specialist is responsible for handling incoming calls for our patients. This role requires passionate and energetic individuals who are great listeners and can multitask while creating a safe and courteous experience for our patients. The Patient Account specialist will support billing, insurance and other questions from our patients. This position is responsible for supporting the mission, vision, and values of Upstream Rehabilitation.
**The hours for this position will vary between 8:00am – 7:30pm Mon-Thurs and 8:00am – 5:00pm Friday**

Patient Calls
- Receives inbound calls from patients to assist in answers their billing questions in a call center environment.
- Sends issues to the AR Team.
- Takes payments and setting payment plans.
- Communication effectively to resolve billing issues.
- Builds rapport by being courteous and friendly.
- Maintains professional and respectful relationships by presenting Business Office, clinic, physician, etc. in a positive light.
- Refers all difficult calls/situations to team lead/manager.

Account Review
- Reviews accounts with outstanding balances or incorrect balances must be able to multi-task and problem solve in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- Call Center experience and/or medical billing experience is a plus.
- Experience in healthcare industry preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills – oral, written and presentations.
- Active Listening, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to solve problems in a timely manner.
- Must be self-motivated to stay on task and be available for routine check ins.
- Must have quiet, HIPAA compliant area with no distractions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
