Production Supervisor
Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving three primary markets – passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off-highway equipment – Dana provides the worlds original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.
Job Purpose
The Production Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position will closely monitor employee workflows, as well as, help maintain a fast-paced production environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the activities of the press floor, under the direction of the Operations Manager, and follow established procedures and approved processes.
- Supervise all production operations.
- Coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver manufactured products in a timely fashion.
- Supervise all employees on the shift.
- Responsible for Safety
- Develop a safety mindset by example, instill that in all employees, and ensure all safety guidelines are followed consistently.
- Develop and support a 5S mindset in all plant areas.
- Do constructive employee counseling when necessary.
- Schedule rotation and relief to ensure that all positions are covered.
- Ensure that operators have accurately completed the production paperwork.
- Monitor production throughout the shift for problems and production levels.
- Ensure that employee reviews are completed on time.
- Ability to work effectively with other departments within the plant.
Education and Experience:
- Requires a high school diploma or GED.
- 3-5 years of manufacturing experience required.
- 3-5 years supervisory experience preferred.
- Requires technical and mechanical ability.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP required.
Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of all manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment
- Must have knowledge of production scheduling and shop operations.
- This position requires that the person be a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently.
- Must have strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
- Must have computer-based know, including Microsoft Word and excel.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Must have the ability to motivate and get along with others in a team environment.
