TITLE: PRC Quality Assurance Specialist
JOB OVERVIEW: The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for quality audits, workflow audits, data analytics, and end-user training. The Quality Assurance Specialist identifies improvement opportunities and acts as a catalyst for change and enhancement in performance and quality within the Patient Resource Center.
DEPARTMENT: Patient Resource Center
WORK HOURS: Typically, Monday – Friday. Some varied hours may be required.
REPORTS TO: Manager Patient Resource Center
PREREQUISITES:
Associates Degree required. Two (2) years experience working in healthcare operations can substitute degree requirement.
Two (2) years experience working in healthcare operations, experience with data analytics required.
Experience with Epic and Aspect applications is preferred.
Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including Excel, Access, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint.
Minimum of one (1) year experience providing training/education preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year experience developing/utilizing SharePoint preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in workflow/process auditing preferred.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

B. Essential Responsibilities and Competencies:
Audits and Data Analytics:
Identifies and resolves workflow problems by completing audits, identifying necessary system improvements and implementing change.
Develops indicators used to monitor quality and effectiveness of current workflows.
Evaluates policies and procedures to improve the quality in the Patient Resource Center.
Develops and maintains quality controls through auditing practices.
Monitors user performance in conjunction with appropriate management team.
Maintains user audit log.
Identifies industry KPIs and best practices to implement improvements in key areas such as productivity and quality.
Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews.
Develop and maintain QA scorecard to monitor, track and trend performance.
Communicate QA performance results to individual staff member.
Develops and maintains quality assurance program for staff in the Patient Resource Center.
Training and Education:
Utilizes quality data to develop training plans in order to drive process improvements.
Collaborates with Training team to create and update training materials for the Patient Resource Center.
Provides constructive feedback regarding others practice.
Provides guidance as needed on the use of the Systems and workflow application.
Maintains an in depth knowledge of VMC applications used in the Patient Resource Center.
Works on other duties or special projects as assigned.
Participates in task forces or committees as the need arises.
Seeks additional knowledge and skills appropriate to the position by participation in educational programs and activities, conferences, workshops, professional meetings and self-directed learning.
Seeks continuous updates in technologies as it influences hospital/clinic analytics.
Maintains privacy, confidentiality, security and integrity of patient data.
Effectively collaborates and communicates with patients, co-workers, and management, as well as with other healthcare workers and ancillary departments.
Acts as a liaison between Patient Resource Center and Clinic Operations.
