Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer (PEBLO) Assistant /
Beneficiary Services Representative Assistant

Bgesh, Incorporated is looking for an eager, qualified PEBLO Assistant to join our team and serve in the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) Program. Please see the details below and apply on our webpage.


OVERVIEW

PEBLOs provide information to active duty and reserve component members (Reserve and Guard) and commanders on program requirements, military benefits, legal rights, and the appeals process. PEBLOs coordinate aeromedical evacuation or other patient travel requirements, TDRL, fitness for duty determinations, lines of duty and other program requirements related to the Disability Evaluation System (DES). PEBLOs provide Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) findings to service member and medical staff.


The
PEBLO Assistant serves as an administrative assistant for the PEBLO in the MEB program, DES, TDRL and TRICARE Operations Patient Administration service. Individual will perform various clerical and administrative duties such as initiation and processing of healthcare forms, documents, medical documentation and reports used in patient administration.

Requirements:

  • Education Requirements – Must possess a high school diploma or general educational development equivalency. Completion of an Administrative Assistant program (certificate or Associates Degree) is desired.
  • Experience Requirement – At least 12 months of experience in an administrative assistant role is required.
Other Qualifications:
  • Must have a clear background to obtain security clearance
  • Familiar with organizational structure and operation methods of Air Force preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship: Workers performing under this contract must be US Citizens
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Effectively use correct grammar and spelling in all written communications.
  • Must possess organization, problem-solving and communication skills to articulate medical requirements to patients, families/care givers, medical and non-medical staff in a professional and courteous way.


Duties:

  • Fully qualified typist with a minimum of 40 words per minute.
  • Able to use standard office equipment, such as computers, typewriters, copiers, fax machines, scanners, telephone and office automation systems.
  • General medical ethics, telephone etiquette and excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Plan, organize, schedule, and coordinate activities such as appointments, meetings, and suspense timelines.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Know the English language, correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to prepare and edit written and electronic correspondence and reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software. Able to use various programs, such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Project to generate a range of products (i.e., tables of contents, import graphs or databases, create glossaries, align multiple columns, print document, identify files or make other notations at the top or bottom of each page, and create form letters and automatically merging these with mailing lists).
  • Receive telephone calls, emails, or visitors and assist as required.
  • Receive and review all incoming/outgoing correspondence (written or electronic communications, etc.) accurately determining nature of request and routes correspondence appropriately.
  • Update VTA, local tracking log, DES internal database.
  • Retrieve copies and file documents into official medical records. CP may be required to locate medical documentation such as narrative summaries, referral entries, results for placement into case files.
  • Provide and initiate medical forms for customers.
  • Schedule appointments (to include medical, Compensation and Pension exams as well as local medical evaluation boards).
  • Assist with the proper assembly of MEB case files (RILO, MEBs, MEB packages, and/or TDRL exams).
  • Upload documents into the Clinical Information Branch (Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC)/DP2NP).
  • Stamp travel orders for TDRL patients.
  • Assist customers with Defense Travel System for Formal Physical Evaluation Board hearing (if required).
  • Assist customers with arrangements to travel on temporary duty status to and from other locations (as required).
  • Able to forward completed MEB, TDRL packages to required offices (e.g., AFPC/DPSD).
  • Dispose case files in accordance with Air Force Records Information Management System (AFRIMS).
  • Track RILO MEB package due dates.
  • Utilize instructions provided by AF Medical Support Agency, AF Medical Operations Agency, AF Personnel Center and Veteran Affairs offices, revise patient handouts, training documents, checklists, operating procedures, or other office continuity document as needed.
  • Attend Deployment Availability Working Group (DAWG) as required.
  • Perform other administrative duties supporting Patient Administration including medical records filing, retrieval, research and/or reviews.


COMPENSATION:

    • Base Hourly Rate: $18.05
    • Health and Welfare: $4.57
    • Total Hourly Rate: $22.62


SCHEDULE:

  • Position type: Hourly
  • Full Time. 40 hours per week, M-F
  • Normal clinic hours are between 0700 and 1700, Monday through Friday.
  • PEBLO will not work on federal holidays
  • Overtime is not authorized (Hours worked are not to exceed 9 hours (8 paid hours, one unpaid hour for lunch)
