Kapiolani Medical Specialists (KMS) is a specialty physician group dedicated to caring for Hawaiis women and children through excellence in academics, physician training, medical research and clinical care. The group is comprised of over 100 Specialists, Nurse Practitioners and other staff, covering newborn to womens health services at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children. KMS operates exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes, offering highly specialized care options at Kapiolani and building support for these services within Hawaii as a whole. The group’s specialty areas include: Neurology, Orthopedics,Genetics, Adolescent Medicine, Otolaryngology, Behavioral Health Services, Hematology/Oncology, Neonatology, Pediatric Intensive Care, Family Medicine and the full spectrum of Pediatric Specialties. Its Womens specialists include Breast and General Surgery, Adult Hospitalists and GYN Oncology.
The Resource Team provides quality, comprehensive patient care in an assigned facility, covering for regular staff members that, for a variety of reasons, are unable to attend to their normal positions. The Resource Team provides clinical and nursing support and encompasses a broad skill set that enables members to support various areas in the hospital or clinic. As a Patient Service Representative, you will help to ensure that our patients and their families receive warm, friendly and considerate assistance at our hospitals and clinics. You will act as a liaison between patients and the professional staff by facilitating clerical and reception responsibilities and assisting in a variety of administrative tasks. These include interviewing, registering, admitting, updating and creating patients’ medical records performing accurate and timely processing of all professional/technical fees generated by department providers and performing cash handling and collection. We are looking for someone sensitive and helpful, with excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work effectively under minimal supervision, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. One (1) year of clerical support in a health care setting or related experience. Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Basic medical terminology. Experience with EPIC.
