DSV Ford Material Analyst:

DSV Ford Material Analysts for Ford of Europe are responsible for monitoring/managing Trans Atlantic Pipeline from Origin (NA) to Destination (Europe). Analysts are responsible for maintaining a fluid continuous flow of product from the North American Supply Base destined to Ford of Europe facilities and Plants. Interaction begins with monitoring CMMS (Common Material Management System) releases to the supply base along with critical shortage reports to the plants. The pipeline is maintained by ensuring that all participating parties (Plant, Supplier, Logistics, Consolidation points, and Steamship Line) are in sync to accomplish the task of moving freight from point A to B in a timely manner while staying within the target transit time milestones. Material Analysts are able to identify problems within the supply chain, dissect the root cause, find a viable, effective, and least financially impactful solution for Ford while offering protection of plant build schedules.

Material Analyst Daily Tasks:

  • Monitor JBBA (shortage screen) in CMMS for critical shortages on assigned plants/trading companies 30.5 and under, REPORT ALL SHORTAGES TO PLANT ANALYST WITH CAUSE AND RECOVERY

  • Gather all information for Air Freight Requests required with AETC information, and send to Ceva (air TSP), the plant contact and contacts designated for each

  • Check status of any pending AETC’s moving to confirm protecting the plant

  • Pull Ford Parts Release Report to confirm suppliers release information

  • Check ASN’s on previous day shippers to confirm shipped to release / ASN accuracy. Add reason codes for any over/under release. (Ship To Release Report)

  • Update ESB Table with any behind schedule information including reason code / promise to ship up to schedule

  • Monitor any aged ASN’s in CMMS, to ensure shipments are reflecting proper ETAs along with moving and update information properly in CMMS. Research any shipments without proper updates

  • Monitor email throughout entire day and respond to all priority requests immediately

  • Any shortage / damage / lost freight issues with carriers, work on issues with suppliers/plants/carrier to ensure the plant is covered, gain replacement parts etc. depending on individual issue

  • Split ASN’s when necessary and provide new paperwork for the split shipment to ODC and Ocean Export team to move the shipment

  • Contact suppliers to gain missing invoices for any shipments moving that paperwork has not been received on

  • Monitor SFS-DCC milestone reports to ensure all shipments are updated with the proper status. Send all valid shipments linked to a container to OE to update

  • Monitor monthly transit reports to advise of invalid shipments and/or Air/Ocean shipments (DCC/PSVR Report)

  • For any FCL shipments pre-bookings are made by OE, however, analyst must provide current/future information to ensure releases have not changed and ensure documents are provided and supplier ships as planned. Follow normal behind procedure if supplier cannot ship

  • Ensure Supplier checklist on shared drive (Ford Supplier Checklist Folder) is updated at all times with latest valid supplier information

  • Ensure Routing Guide has all correct information for their suppliers

  • Initiate Routing with Penske for all new OD pairs for inclusion into Network Design


  • 3-5 years industry experience a plus
  • Excellent critical-thinking and communication skills
