The Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) is a multi-faceted agency that provides services and programs to enhance the self-sufficiency of families, improve safety and permanency for children and vulnerable adults, and engage families and community partners in a collaborative decision-making process.
The Department for Community Based Services Division of Service Regions seeks a driven, positive, and professional individual for the role of Human Resource Specialist II. The position will provide professional technical assistance in the areas of human resources, including recruitment, classification, compensation, onboarding, performance appraisal, payroll, and employee benefits.

The Department for Community Based Services Division of Service Regions seeks a driven, positive, and professional individual for the role of Human Resource Specialist II. The position will provide professional technical assistance in the areas of human resources, including recruitment, classification, compensation, onboarding, performance appraisal, payroll, and employee benefits.

- Provides support and guidance to personnel-related staff in the Division
- Prepares and processes personnel actions
- Completes employee onboarding processes
- Provides technical assistance with employee benefits and enrollment processes
- Assists with coordinating fingerprint background checks for new hires
- Monitors training compliance
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of professional experience in personnel administration, business administration or management.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year for year basis. Prior military experience will only substitute if the individual received an honorable discharge, discharge under honorable conditions, or a general discharge.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
