Our HR Business Partner is responsible for oversight of all HR initiatives for the non-union manufacturing facility of Grand Island, NE. The site runs production 24/7 with over 450 employees and some temporary labor. This role has 4-5 direct reports. The HRBP will provide local onsite and periodic remote HR support to serve as a strategic partner to the Plant Leadership team, HR support staff and the site employee population. The HRBP is responsible for end-to-end planning, support, and execution of various programs to include matrix and cross functional partnership to bring our HR Vision to life. The HRBP will develop team members and demonstrate strong change agent abilities.
How You’ll Add Value:
- Provide proactive HR leadership and consultation to the Manufacturing business groups, supporting leaders and the employees of the organization.
- Understand business goals and immerse self with the site team to serve as a trusted advisor and influencer.
- Collaborate with the Plant Leaders, Employee Experience Center, and other Center of Expertise (COE’s) to identify gaps, develop recommendations and strategies to enhance the employee experience.
- Support business objectives by driving a high-performance culture through coaching, training and change management.
- Foster partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization and McCain.
- Applying a broad understanding of all HR programs, oversee execution of all annual and ad-hoc HR initiatives, Analytics, Performance Process, Talent Management Review, Employee Engagement Surveys, Staffing and Workforce Planning Initiatives
- Supports the business process by providing human resources expertise that enhances communication, engagement and facilitates the design of strategies to attract, retain, and develop talent.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the COE’s to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Ability and experience in supporting sites with multiple languages, cultures, and genders. Bi-lingual in Spanish is preferred.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
- Use a high level of initiative and accountability to address site business and talent management challenges.
- Lead the delivery of various HR projects, Diversity & Inclusion strategy, Safety, Employee Wellness, HR processes and business procedures to enhance overall Appetizer standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements: EEOC/AA, ADAA, FMLA and other leaves in addition to any state specific requirement.
- Partner with peers, Production and/or corporate partners to assess and implement an optimal organizational design to support business growth.
- Share insights and trends with key stakeholders to drive more effective / efficient HR customer service delivery.
- Able to manage confidential information with sensitivity and respect.
- Able to travel up to 5%, as needed.
About You:
- 8+ years of experience in Human Resources, preferably as a HR Generalist
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field required, HR certification preferred.
- Strong Generalist HR knowledge comprehensive HR policy and process knowledge, with experience in manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines (compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle pressures of deadlines, diverse assignment loads and high work volumes.
- Strong employee relations and investigations experience
- Experience leading HR change management initiatives.
- Experience developing strategic partnerships with senior management and influencing key business decisions.
- Strong knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations in USA
- Knowledge of project management basics, analytical skills, and experience in HR Metrics
- Proven teamwork capabilities strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
- Professional, trustworthy, and hardworking demeanor.
- Strong ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with impact and handle confidential information.
- Working knowledge of various HR systems is beneficial, particularly SAP, Workforce Pro and SuccessFactors
