Overview
Join our small, dynamic team – be a part of Vermont’s housing solution! The Vermont Office of Economic Opportunity is hiring for a full-time Housing Program Officer to support the Family Supportive Housing Program. The Housing Program Officer will partner with community organizations across Vermont who are helping families experiencing homelessness to get and keep housing through the Family Supportive Housing Program. The Program Officer is responsible for training, technical assistance, monitoring and reporting. Candidates should have familiarity with housing or homeless programs, strong knowledge of social services casework principles and practices, experience training or teaching, and commitment to housing first and whole family approaches. It is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. Environmental Factors
Duties require considerable travel to project sites for which a valid drivers license is required. Tact and diplomacy are required for effective performance. Considerable interaction will occur with human service providers, and other state and federal agencies. Some overtime, evening, and weekend work may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree AND four (4) or more years in human services, housing, or community development.

OR

High school graduation or equivalent AND seven (8) or more years in human services, housing, or community development.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with homeless assistance programs
