High Rocks Educational Corporation is a non-profit in southern West Virginia that was founded in 1996. Since then we have developed our flagship program, High Rocks for Girls, into an award-winning leadership program for young women across the region. Over 20 years later, we work not only with girls, but with boys, families, young adults, and community partners, strengthening both people and communities. We work most at the interesting intersection of innovative education and economic development. The High Rocks AmeriCorps project aims to tap into our area’s human and natural potential to combat poor education and health outcomes and improve economic opportunity in our counties.
Member Duties : • To keep current the Center’s social media accounts/digital footprint and maintain responsive posts/replies to community comments/questions. • To recruit volunteers in order to achieve the following: • To develop and maintain partnerships with parents/families, agencies, and nonprofits in order to provide support services to the families utilizing the Center. • Engage with community partners to design and implement programming offering support and/or training to parents and caregivers. • Engage with community partners to design and implement programming for children. • Participate in volunteer community focus groups that engage in community rehabilitation and revitalization.
