The anticipated salary range for this role is between $171,000.00 and $205,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
SMBC Nikko Securities America, Inc. is a member of the Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG), one of the worlds largest global financial institutions. Based in New York City, we are an SEC registered Broker dealer that provides financial products and services to global institutional clients, focusing on North America and Latin America.
The Securities Operations Group within SMBC Nikko Securities America, Inc. is in the process of establishing Middle Office and Settlements functions in our Charlotte location as the foundation for business continuity per Primary Dealer requirements. The Head of Middle Office and Settlements will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Charlotte based Fixed Income Middle Office and Securities Settlements functions. Reporting directly to the Head of Securities Operations in New York, this will be an extension of the broader New York based Securities Operations team. The role will support the Head of Securities Operations to ensure seamless Operational support model between the New York and Charlotte offices.

Role Objectives
- Supervise and ensure execution of day-to-day operational activities across Charlotte based Middle Office and Settlements
- Establish business continuity model to support US Treasury Auction processes
- Establish policies and procedures with respect to daily functions
- Work with relevant stakeholders (including but not limited to Front Office, Technology, Compliance, Risk) to deliver against targeted business strategies and initiatives
- Identify opportunities for process enhancement and efficiencies
- Lead department through internal and external reviews
- Perform ad-hoc requests and other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- 7+ years of experience in Financial Services with strong understanding of US Treasury Auction, Fixed Income, Futures and Equity products
- 5+ years of management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- FINRA Series 99 License or equivalent required
- Knowledge of Bloomberg TOMS, Omgeo, Pershing, Netx360, or Broadridge Impact is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work in a matrix environment
