Job Description : Position Title: Energy Director Job Posting Closing Date: 05/26 Provo City is seeking a full-time Energy Director to oversee the operations and administration of the Energy department. This position will work closely with City Administration and the Municipal Council.

The Energy Director will be a dynamic leader with a demonstrated history of success focused on efficient operations and safety protocols. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements listed below to be eligible for consideration. Pay Rate: $160,000 – $210,000 annually Selection of Essential Duties:
  • Monitor and direct all activities, programs, personnel, and strategies of the department.
  • Identify and resolve areas of inefficiency and administrative and operational concerns.
  • Ensure safety programs are developed, implemented, and followed for all divisions.
  • Make staffing decisions including hiring, firing, and training.
  • Actively represent public power interests in state, area, and national organizations.
  • Advise the City in Energy matters.
  • Prepare and present various statistical and analytical reports.
  • Perform duties of lower level staff and other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, public administration, or a closely related field.
  • Five years of experience administering electric utility programs –3 years of which were in a responsible management capacity.
  • OR an equivalent combination of job-related education/training [substituting each one year of post-secondary education/training for six months of experience].
  • A valid, lawful Driver License.
