THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services, Bureau of Administrative Services, Division of Emergency Planning and Response is seeking a highly responsible Administrative Officer 2 to coordinate statewide and interstate planning, response, and recovery activities related to emergency assistance programs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administrative Officer 2 for the Division of Emergency Planning and Response, you will serve as the Emergency Assistance Coordinator (EAC) under the supervision of the Department of Human Services, Emergency Response and Recovery Manager for Emergency Support Function 6 (ESF6). In this independent and highly responsible position, you will exercise a high degree of discretion and decision-making authority. This role involves planning for the provision of a broad range of emergency assistance programs, including essential community relief services to vulnerable populations such as people with disabilities and others with access and functional needs, children, and household pets and coordination with local, state, and federal partners for the establishment of post disaster temporary housing programs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time after completion of a probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Travel: As needed or required
  • Overtime: As needed
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING &amp ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as an Administrative Officer 1 or
  • Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement and a bachelors degree or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
