Job Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director for Facilities Management Campus, the Custodial Services Manager leads and manages the technical, managerial, and supervisory support to the University of Kentucky – Lexington Campus and Medical Center to ensure assigned areas are properly maintained and cleaned in accordance with appropriate health and safety standards for educational, research, and ambulatory facilities Develops, implements, and administers goals, standards, and quality control programs for Facilities Management Custodial Services, including training, procurement, and personnel management Establishes work procedures, plans, and schedules to ensure efficient and effective cleaning services Reviews and tests new procedures, equipment, and supplies to deliver exceptional levels of service Oversees the purchase and distribution of custodial supplies and equipment Directs the performance of ongoing inspections of all University facilities to ensure adherence to quality control programs Addresses all inquiries related to requests and/or concerns regarding cleaning matters and deals with various corresponding operating needs campus-wide Collaborates with leadership to coordinate essential support at special events, athletic activities, banquets, department moves/changes, and/or other applicable occasions, emergencies, and weather-related incidents that affect assigned staffing Participates in the resolution of problems associated with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire, life safety, alarm systems, elevators, etc. Ensures standards and regulatory codes are maintained and consistently applied to provide a safe, clean environment for students, staff, faculty, and visitors.
