MISSION STATEMENT
To be the nation’s most citizen oriented, efficiently administered, state tax agency.

The Montana Department of Revenue administers almost 40 state taxes, property appraisals, liquor and marijuana laws, and unclaimed property for the state of Montana. The Cannabis Control Division is responsible for the licensing, regulating and enforcement of the marijuana laws of Montana.

DUTIES
The incumbent performs a variety of duties assigned by management. Duties include establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with representatives of community, consumers, employees, law enforcement and public interest groups. The incumbent plans and directs development and communication of informational programs to maintain favorable perceptions of cannabis control programs and develops public relations strategies to educate the public promote ideas, products, and services and develops community partners in controlling cannabis products. This includes developing and evaluating public outreach and information programs, educational and training sessions, marketing campaigns. The position does not supervise other staff.

Qualifications:


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

The above competencies are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, business or public administration, education, or related field.
  • Three years of job-related work experience.
  • Preferred work experience includes adult education, public relations, coordinating and conducting media campaigns, branding, marketing, grant writing and conference planning or related areas.
  • Other combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.
