Associate Director of Administrative Services

The Associate Director for Administrative Services reports to the Director of Residential Life and serves as the chief administrative housing officer for the department, an income/expense unit with an operating budget and annual revenues of more than $40 million that is responsible for housing 5500+ students in 40 residence halls. Responsible for providing leadership across the department in all areas of housing, operations, information technology, and administration to achieve a high level of customer service through streamlined processes that utilize the most current technologies. Responsible for three major administrative areas: housing services, operational excellence, and information technology management. Provides leadership for a team comprised of 17 staff members. Directly responsible for developing and implementing administrative housing services in alignment with departmental and institutional strategic plans and priorities.
Under the leadership of the Associate Director, the Administrative Services Team strives to promote an on-campus residential experience in which students are healthy, engaged, and successful. The Department of Residential Life’s goal is to instill respect and foster a sense of community that creates, promotes, and supports a socially just residential environment. Students, faculty, and staff are provided opportunities to understand, accept, and appreciate each other through various means including conversations, programming, advocacy, education, support, reflection, and relationship-building.
Master’s degree in education, student affairs, business administration, information technology or related field and five years’ experience to include progressively responsible leadership positions within student affairs, particularly housing operations.
Effective leadership and management experience and data-driven decision making. Collaboration, problem-solving, and information technology management experience highly desirable. Excellent communication skills are required, as well as a documented ability to work collaboratively and effectively in teams.
Demonstrated ability to build positive and effective relationships with students, colleagues, senior leaders, and other internal and external partners.
Demonstrated multicultural competence as well as comfort and skill in working with diverse populations. Demonstrated support and commitment to enhancing a diverse campus culture and the student experience.
