This position will serve as an executive administrative assistant for the Office of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (EMSA). Duties will include several specialties (Secretarial, Record Keeping, Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Customer Service, and Team Building). Applicants must become familiar with and apply/practice regular business procedures and event coordination. This position requires self-direction, independent problem solving and professional work habits. Must work as a team player and create an environment that supports the administration, faculty, staff, and students in meeting the mission of Salish Kootenai College. Some duties will require the applicant to work on assigned projects independently and/or with multiple departments to achieve specified outcomes or goals related to enhancing student experiences around topics like marketing/recruitment, clarifying messaging, increasing exposure of SKC to community, supporting the entire student, focusing digital presence, increasing intra department communication and efficiency, and other themes as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Successful applicants must have a post-secondary degree in one or more of the following specialties: public relations, business administration, communication, or media design and have five years’ experience in customer service, management, recruitment, or similar interactive public position. Applicants must have applied experience with business operations, procedures, and policies as well as experience with CRM (customer relationship software) and Email management software. Additional experience with student engagement and communication delivery systems, website, platform design, messaging, and other systems for digital communication will be expected as well as a working knowledge of local and regional resources available to students.
Must be able to independently organize and prioritize activities of daily office operations. Must possess excellent skills in communications and problem solving. Exceptional writing skills, ability to write and manage grants, and possess a comfortability using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) will all be required. This position requires an individual who is energetic, self-directed, and demonstrates professional work habits. A knowledge of Tribal College education and our student population is preferred.
