Administrative Associate

Provide wide range of administrative support to the Department Chair of Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design. Provide assistance, anticipate needs, gather information, consider implications, and evaluate priorities and have awareness of important issues and information. Collect, organize, and analyze department data utilizing Microsoft Excel. Manage department webpages and assist in the organization of departmental events. Coordinate complex scheduling/meetings involving multiple calendars, outreach and communications activities for the office. Attend meetings and record minutes of faculty meetings and similar activities led by the department head. Prepare reports, letters, and other documents. Oversee the submission of annual faculty accomplishment reports and promotion and tenure files to the Department Head and Chair of the Promotion and Tenure Committee, and prepare documentation of these for submission to the next level of administration. Supervise department staff.

Bachelor’s degree plus two years of relevant administrative experience equivalent education/experience considered. Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software programs. Detail-oriented and accurate with strong organizational and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently within established procedures. Ability to preserve confidentiality. Ability to supervise staff. Self-starter and ability to anticipate and effectively solve problems. Ability to present information in a way that facilitates decision-making. Ability to assist the Chair in management of tasks and time and to represent oneself and department well to others.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education setting and/or supervisory experience. Experience with large integrated financial management system and database software programs.
Posted Salary $21.250/hr minimum
