Role Review

Our accounts payable (AP) department keeps that system running smoothly by managing cash flow and paying vendors and suppliers. We are searching for a skilled financial specialist to join our accounts payable team to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The accounts payable specialist will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners.

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 EST. The hourly rate for this position is $21.00 – $25.09 (this salary range can change up/down based on the geographic location data analysis) plus 13 days paid vacation in the first year.

Responsibilities

  • Support the company in optimizing our financial transactions and systems
  • Strengthen and grow relationships with vendors and suppliers through timely payment
  • Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process
  • Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
  • Perform invoice and general ledger data entry
  • Execute credit card and bank account reconciliation
  • Administrate 3rd party payment partners

Qualifications

Minimum requirements for the position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Understanding basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
  • 3-5 years of PO experience
  • Superb time management and detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to keep company and partner confidences

Preferred Qualifications

  • An associate degree
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Prior experience in accounts payable (or accounts receivable)
  • Experience in distribution or manufacturing preferred
  • Experience with accounting software and online platforms

This position reports to the Controller.
