Accounting Advisor- Work at home

Primary Responsibilities:
Perform activities related to the CGHB North America month-end and quarterly US GAAP close processes, including preparation and review of: journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and analysis.
Execute the monthly accounting and settlement process for our current and future Middle East arrangements.
Facilitate internal and external audits. Accountable for remediation of audit issues identified during internal and external audit engagements.
Research complex accounting issues and new accounting guidelines, and establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
Responsible for end to end implementation of accounting processes and procedures for new transactions and arrangements.
Responsible for identification of process and internal control improvement opportunities. He/she will present recommendations to management, and lead projects to implement solutions.
Support improvement of processes and implementation of new tools to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelors in Accounting or related field required Masters in Accounting and/or CPA preferred
5+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in the insurance industry
Strong technical skills and the ability to maintain an appropriate internal control environment, including a sound understanding of GAAP accounting requirements
Ability to influence and collaborate with business partners that have various levels of experience and responsibility
Strong analytical skills to interpret, evaluate and communicate financial results
Ability to balance multiple projects and adapt to new issues/assignments.
Capable of initiating, facilitating and working with others in change efforts.
Proficient using Excel, and familiarity with Oracle general ledger platforms preferred
This role is Flex/WFH which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $77,500 – $129,100, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
