GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is responsible for supporting the reporting functions of data, data dashboards, on-going support for the IBM Cognos Data Warehouse, and future support for Microsoft SSRS reporting. Also responsible for analyzing proper protocols for reporting, where data resides for accurate reporting for all departments, assessment data, state reporting and mandated MOSIS Core Data Reporting providing information and/or direction as may be required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Administers reporting processes of district data with the district’s reporting tools and dash boarding maintaining data reporting quality.
- Analyzes usage of reports, data components, and dashboards maintaining efficient and responsible reporting systems.
- Collaborates with a variety of internal and external stakeholders providing and/or receiving data, information and ensuring project success.
- Collaborates with Senior Data Engineer to update and ensure accuracy of security settings for analytics software to ensure timely access for users.
- Supports data inquiries for a variety of sources both internal and external.
- Ability to learn new software and reporting tools quickly.
- Follows direction to develop, design, and test the data warehouse and all related extraction, transformation, and loads (ETL) of the data functions to ensure complete and accurate data is updated into the district data warehouse.
- Works collaboratively to ensure data analysis and reporting efforts are completed to support district wide initiatives.
- Assists with ongoing implementation of software including best practices related to data reporting tools, databases, and data systems ensuring high availability and performance of district data.
- Designs repeatable reporting processes, reporting standards and unified data dashboard standards in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders addressing organizational needs and ensuring the availability of information needed to meet reporting requirements.
- Evaluates district reporting products identifying strengths, weaknesses, and potential benefits to the District.
- Implements best practices as it related to data reporting tools, databases and data systems ensuring high availability and performance of district resources.
- Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources providing technical assistance, advice and support.
- Serves as a technical resource to department and district staff providing information and/or advice regarding active or planned projects.
- Supports data integration of District software ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Troubleshoots reporting systems, system applications and the supporting software identifying and correcting malfunctions and other operational problems.
- Performs other related duties as required/assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in job-related area from an accredited college or university, required.
- A minimum of five (5) or more years as a MS SQL database administrator with extensive work in data warehouse reporting may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
Certificates, Licenses and Other Special Requirements
- Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge is required to perform algebra and/or geometry read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions.
- Knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: knowledge of standard query language (SQL), Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, general knowledge of Cognos Business Intelligence.
- Skill to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
- Skill based competencies required to perform the functions of the job, including strong customer service skills adhering to data security practices planning and managing projects and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.
- The work is sedentary work that requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
- Must possess the physical ability to perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.
